Toronto Wedding Vocalist Rosanna's Biography:

A professionally trained vocalist, pianist, songwriter, and actress, Rosanna Riverso has been performing regularly at countless weddings, corporate functions, and theatre productions for the past 14 years.  Anyone who has worked with Rosanna recognizes her as a consummate professional who understands all the technical aspects of music and live performance.  Anyone who has seen her perform has experienced her deep sincerity, passion, and extraordinary ability to touch hearts.  That’s why for years, Rosanna Riverso has been referred to by many as the “angelic voice” and her rendition of such classical hymns as “Ave Maria” and “Panis Angelicus” continues to mesmerize.    

Rosanna began her musical studies at the young age of six, taking classical piano and operatic singing at the Royal Conservatory of Music.  She quickly became well known to devoted listeners in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, for her early appearances with the Hamilton Children’s Choir and later, for her concerts with coaches Elise Bedard (B.Mus., L.Mus., M.Mus.) and New York’s Tina Torlone and Michael Warren (Provoce Studios, NY, NY, USA).  Rosanna also spent many years training under some of Canada’s top vocal instructors for the more contemporary styles of singing, including jazz, pop, and R&B.  It was during this time that Rosanna discovered her gift for writing and composing original songs.  Her original song “Listen Up” earned her a sixth place standing in the Mix 99.9 Songwriting Competition while her powerful ballad “Scared Alone” / “Di Che Temi” placed her as 1^st Runner Up in the CHIN Songwriting Festival.  Some of her other notable achievements include her performance at the San Donato Song Festival in Italy, the national radio release of her original single “Listen Up”, and her opening act for legendary crooner, Al Martino. 

In an attempt to hone her skills as a writer and performer, Rosanna began to study acting and theatre.  Of her recent leading role as the witch in Stephen Sondheim’s musical Into the Woods, Rosanna received impressive reviews.  The Hamilton Spectator singled out her performance as being superior while View Magazine called her a “scene-stealer…with a voice that delivers”. After a great show at Festa Italiana this past July, Milwaukee Wisconsin’s Italian Times newspaper said “Rosanna has a smile like Sophia Loren and a story-telling ability like Frank Sinatra”. 

Whether she is performing a beautiful aria from a famous opera or scatting to a swinging jazz tune, Rosanna continues to draw crowds in with her majestic voice, gifted phrasing, and incredible range.  Currently, you can hear Rosanna singing with classical pianist Christabel Pinto or with her Toronto Band, the Dick Felix Jazz Band.  She is also writing and recording new material which is to be released in the near future. The successes Rosanna Riverso has already made in a short time speak volumes about what lies ahead for this young singer.
